Paul writes that he is proud of the Church at Corinth for their past generosity, and when he bragged to the Macedonians about it, they quickly gave much of their resources as well. Paul beseeches them to come through with what they have already promised to God. God knows what we can and cannot give to Him. Do not try to heat or short change God. Don't even nickel and dime Him. Have a good attitude when He tells you what and how much to give. God will bless the person who gives plentifully. He will give Him much (it could be money or it could be fulfillment). Paul says that God loves a cheerful giver. God wants you to love Him enough that you want to give back to Him and the church. God knows and cares about your intentions. God gives you overflowing kindness and grace, so it should seem easy to find it in your heart to give some money or time to help others. If you give for the sake of goodness, then God will give you more that you can give to good things. God has given us the seed of resources, and He left it up to us to multiply it. God will increase the things we do that have His approval. He actively controls the situations in our lives and waits for us to act on our own free will; therefore, if we act in certain situations in means that please Him, then He will create that situation more and more often. God will make us rich enough to always be generous. God will give us the resources that we can and will use best to be generous. That way, when He gives us more, we will give thanksgivings unto God. You should be generous because it is a way of spreading the Good News. People will see that there is something going on in the way you act when you are generous, and when they ask you about it, they are giving you the chance to share with them about Jesus.
